Mohi Baha’ud-din Dagar

Mohi Baha’ud-din Dagar is an exponent of the Rudraveena, which is an ancient classical musical instrument of India. He practises this instrument in the genre “Dhrupad,” which is the oldest living vocal tradition of India and traces its roots to the SamVed. Over the years his music continuously searches for new ways of expression without breaking the traditional format. In 2012, he was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, the highest award for performing artists, conferred by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India’s National Academy for Music, Dance and Drama.
