Hong Kong Poetry Festival Foundation

The Hong Kong Poetry Festival Foundation is a non-profit cultural organization initiated by Chinese poet Bei Dao and established in 2017 in Hong Kong. Our former body is the Organizing Committee of the International Poetry Nights in Hong Kong (IPNHK).

We collaborate with local and overseas organizations to hold various cultural activities, including but not limited to poetry recitals, music concerts, art exhibitions, and film screenings. Our flagship event is the International Poetry Nights in Hong Kong (IPNHK), held every other year since 2009. IPNHK has become Asia’s most influential international poetry festival and one of the world’s most successful international poetry events. IPNHK is also a member of the Word Alliance, which brings together the world’s leading literature festivals.

We support local cultural entities that give free workshops and seminars to grassroots or underprivileged groups and provide them with free educational materials for the purpose of improving their literacy and writing skills. We also work with local universities to promote research on contemporary world poetry by holding lectures, seminars, and academic conferences.

We uphold the principle of being a non-profit organization, and most of our cultural activities are free and open to the public.
